5 July 2008: Stage One: Made it!
Made it.
A little rain, but a merciful tailwind more than made up for the damp. 8 hours and 38 minutes, 219 kilometers. Not a flat stage, rolling hills all the way, and four minor climbs.
Average speed without stops: 25.3 kph; with stops, add about 45 minutes. This may be doable, assuming I can find a grocery store before I pass out.
Should be a good end to a great day--food, stage finish, ride another scenic 42.5 K to Auray, sleep anywhere they'll let me.
