26 May, 2008: Let the Eating Begin
Another 75 miles today. This was an experiment, the first time I've ridden this many miles in a two-day stretch. I was worried about fatigue, and expected to be hurting for most of the day.
Instead, I felt great, and was able to push almost the whole way. I even managed to out-sprint a teammate at the very end of the ride. When I got home, I hopped off the bike and ran a few miles. Then, over the course of several hours, I proceeded to demolish three half-pound cheeseburgers, four slices of pizza, a large chocolate chip cookie, two slices of chocolate pie, two ounces of dark chocolate, and four servings of premium ice cream.
My friend Mark, an Aussie, made the remark, "You eat like an American." And he was only there for the burgers.
(WARNING: If you plan to continue following this blog, you'd better like food. I'm only going to get hungrier.)
